Course General - Information for PMP Training Classes

SOALogix has partnered with a PMI® Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.), for our PMP curriculum at the SOALogix headquarters in Reston, Virginia.  SOALogix offers basic and advanced level project management courses to meet the training objectives of first time project managers and experienced project managers.  You will be trained by actual PMPs that have decades of project management experience and are recognized for successfully preparing students to sit for the rigorous PMP® and CAPM® certification exams. 

You will learn new skills through a combination of lecture, case studies, quizzes, reading assignments, and participative classroom exercises. Throughout the training classes you’ll receive quizzes to validate your understanding.  The instructors supplement their lectures with their “real world” project examples. They know what it takes to manage projects, and are skilled at sharing this knowledge in the classroom.

You can be assured that all course materials are designed to be consistent with the concepts and terminology defined in the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®).

Please Note: 

All publicly offered training classes are currently being presented in our facility at 11720 Sunrise Valley Drive in Reston, Virginia.  Our training room is located on the 2nd Floor. Turn to the right as you exit the elevator.

All training classes are scheduled to begin promptly at 8:30 AM and conclude at approximately 5:30 PM, with an hour off for lunch.  Several short (10 minute) breaks during the day will be provided for checking phone messages, etc.  The training room will open at 8:00 AM and coffee will be provided.

In season, should the Fairfax County, VA public school system be closed for snow or another inclement weather event, our training facility will be closed and the affected classes re-scheduled.  Listen to WTOP FM-103.5 for school closure announcements.

Course PTP-EPM3 - 24 Hour Fundamental Project Management Training

This intense 3 day course provides an overview of the basics of project management.  Project team members, project managers, program managers, functional managers and others involved directly and indirectly with projects will benefit by attending the training.

 

You will learn how to plan and execute project tasks to bring projects in on time, within budget, and meet the project deliverables as defined in the project charter and scope documents. Key training topics include project cost, quality, scope and time; project roles and responsibilities; team-building; and conflict resolution. You will learn proven processes and methodologies to effectively manage projects and accomplish project success.

Course PTP-EPM5 - 35 Hour Fundamental Project Management Training

Are you a project team member, project manager, program manager or functional manager? Whether you are involved directly or indirectly with projects, you will benefit by attending the class. Formal project management training will enable you to demonstrate the knowledge, competence, and professionalism required to manage projects successfully, and build credibility with your customers.

 

You will learn how to plan and execute project tasks to bring projects in on time, within budget, and meet the project deliverables as defined in the project charter and scope documents. Key training topics include project cost, quality, scope and time; project roles and responsibilities; team-building; and conflict resolution. You will learn proven processes and methodologies to effectively manage projects and accomplish project success.

Course PTP-PMP2 - 16 Hour PMP & CAPM Certification Exam Preparation

This 16 hour intense, comprehensive course is designed for students preparing to sit for the rigorous Project Management Professional (PMP^®) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM^®) certification exam.  The course is based on the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK^®), 3^rd edition.

 

The training reviews how to properly plan and execute project tasks to bring projects in on time, within budget, and meet the project deliverables. Key topics reviewed include effective leadership, project roles and responsibilities, communication, team building, and managing the project budget and schedule.

 

The course is not a basic project management course.  The course is a review of project management and is focused on covering material which may appear on a PMI certification exam.  Attending this class will significantly reduce a students’ overall exam preparation time.
