Course General - Information for Primavera Training Classes

All publicly offered training classes are currently being presented in our new facility at 11720 Sunrise Valley Drive in Reston, Virginia.  Our training room is located on the 2nd Floor. Turn to the right as you exit the elevator.

Links to driving directions and local hotels are posted on the On-Site Training Locations tab.  Our location is served by several public transit bus routes which also connect to the Metro.

All training classes are scheduled to begin promptly at 8:30 AM and conclude at approximately 4:00 PM, with an hour off for lunch.  Several short (10 minute) breaks during the day will be provided for checking phone messages, etc.  The training room will open at 8:00 AM and coffee will be provided.

In season, should the Fairfax County, VA public school system be closed for snow or another inclement weather event, our training facility will be closed and the affected classes re-scheduled.  Listen to WTOP FM-103.5 for school closure announcements.

Course 101 - P6 Web Tool - Basic

Course 101
This course provides hands-on training for Primavera’s web-based solution. Participants will receive an overview of project management concepts, assign resources, view and approve timesheets, adjust the project plan to account for schedule delays and over allocated resources, and analyze portfolios. Participants also will customize the Personal Workspace - their "homepage" - and use the Project Workspace to collaborate with team members, manage documents, and initiate a project request. This three-day course includes lesson reviews and workshops to reinforce course material.

Course level: Basic

Targeted role: Program Managers, Project Managers

Course 102 - P6 Basic Course

Course 102
This course provides hands-on training for Primavera’s client/server based solution Participants will gain a thorough background in the concepts of planning and scheduling. Scheduling techniques will be covered. This three-day course leads you through hands-on workshops that create and track an entire project to completion. All workshops and instruction use the three basic elements of project management: schedule, resource and costs.

Course level: Basic

Targeted role: Program Managers, Project Managers, Planners/Schedulers

Additional audiences: Existing project management module users. Existing P3e/c, Enterprise, and TeamPlay users.

Course 106-A - P6 Advanced Topics - Administration

Course 106-A
This two-day course provides in-depth training for those selected for administering the Enterprise Tool Suite and implementation core team members needing to know how to set up the infrastructure necessary to support the installation of the software.

Course Level: Advanced

Prerequisite: Completion of Course 102

Targeted role: Tool Administrators

Additional audiences: Implementation core team members

NOTE: This is a standard, software functionality-based class. Industry specific offerings/examples are not included in standard classes.

This class will be offered on an "as requested" basis.  A minimum of three students are required or an implementation consulting contract

Course 106-P - P6 Advanced Topics - Scheduling

Course 106-P
This two-day course provides in-depth project management training in Primavera’s client/server-based solution. Building off skills learned in the basic course (102), the 106-P course covers advanced subjects such as earned value analysis; updating baselines; and top-down budgeting. Hands-on workshops enable students to apply skills learned throughout the course.

Course level: Advanced

Prerequisite: Completion of Course 102

Targeted role: Project Schedulers, Program Managers, Project Managers

Additional audiences: Existing project management module users. Existing P3e/c, Enterprise, and TeamPlay users.

Course 106-R - P6 Advanced Topics - Resource Management

Course 106-R
This two-day course provides in-depth resource management training in Primavera’s client/server-based solution. Building off skills learned in the basic course (102), the 106-R course covers advanced topics in managing resource allocation, future-period bucket planning and resource leveling. Extended workshops at the end of each day provide an opportunity to apply new skills and functionality.

Course level: Advanced

Prerequisite: Completion of Course 102

Targeted role: Resource Managers, Program Managers, Project Managers

Additional audiences: Existing project management module users. Existing P3e/c, Enterprise, and TeamPlay users.

Course 107 - P6 Resource Management Using the Web Tool

This course provides Resource Managers hands-on training for Primavera’s Web-based solution.

Course 108 - Upgrading From Primavera P3 to the new Primavera Enterprise

A two-day class to enable current P3 users leverage their existing knowlege and rapidly adapt to the new features and capabilities in Primavera Enterprise

Course SLX-100 - Scheduling Practice Workshop

Has it been a while since you took your PRIMAVERA Enterprise software training class and you've forgotten a lot of what you learned?  Have you recently been tasked to develop a resource and cost loaded schedule for a new project and you haven't a clue where to begin?

Come spend a day in our computer lab with our dedicated, PRIMAVERA certified training instructors and sharpen up your scheduling skills.

We will provide and coach you through an industry specific series of classroom exercises designed to lead you through all the normally required functionality of your PRIMAVERA scheduling tool of choice.

Don't forget to bring your 102 Training class manuals as this is a self-help, guided session. 

Course 201 - Contract Manager Basic Course

Learn Contract Manager (formerly called Expedition), Primavera's web-based Project Controls solution, through hands-on, basic training. Provides hands-on training for Primavera’s Contract Manager solution, focusing on project cost control and document management. Additional topics include logging and tracking submittals, recording project communication, awarding procurement items, and using contracts, purchase orders, and trends. Numerous workshops reinforce new functionality and skills.

Course 401 - Introduction To SureTrak® Project Manager

This course provides a comprehensive overview of SureTrak Project Manager. It examines how to use SureTrak for project planning, scheduling, control, and analysis.

Course 601 - Planning and Scheduling with Primavera Project Planner (P3)®

Getting started with P3 through hands-on, basic training. Participants will gain a thorough background in the concepts of planning and scheduling while learning P3. This three-day course leads you through nine hands-on workshops that create and track an entire project to completion, using the three basic elements of project management: schedule, resources, and costs. Scheduling techniques will be covered.

Course 602 - Resource & Cost Analysis with Primavera Project Planner®

This one day course will enable you to take full advantage of driving resources, resource curves, hierarchical resources, resource profiles/tables and resource Leveling. Learn resource calendars for planning and control and Rich Text Format reports for status reporting. Participants will develop, update and track resources and costs using a series of hands-on workshops.

Course 603 - Managing Project Data with Primavera Project Planner®

This one-day hands-on training course will take you beyond the fundamentals of scheduling a project by transferring project data through copy and paste, storing and retrieving fragnets, and using import and export. In addition, global change, and custom data items will be used to modify activity data. Learn to enhance your presentation by including objects and symbols and post this information on your company intranet using the Web Publishing Wizard. You will become proficient at using the power of P3 for maximum control of your projects.

Course 700 - Introduction to Primavera Contractor

This course provides an overview of Primavera Contractor. The course is a hands on approach to the software. It examines how Primavera Contractor is used in Project Management for project planning, scheduling, control, and analysis.
